Israel and Morocco have agreed to normalize relations
Israel and Morocco have agreed to normalize relations, the fourth such pact in recent months between Israel and Arab countries in the Middle East and Africa. In return, outgoing US President Donald Trump is recognising Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara. Few nations recognize Morocco’s sovereignty as the region’s Indigenous population has waged a decades-long struggle for independence. It comes at a time when there has been disagreement between member states about the re-admittance of Morocco into the AU fold. To speak to us more on this matter, we are joined by Pan-African Scholar and Researcher Professor Mammo Muchie.
